FHR HTGT racing for the Dunlop Trophy

01

Sprint races for touring cars, GT and racing sports cars up to 1975 model year

Since the beginning of the 90s of the last century, this racing series has been competing in historic sprint races.

At the beginning as HTWT (Historic Touring Car Trophy) only for touring cars manufactured up to 1965, it opened up 15 years ago to GTs as well and was renamed HTGT (Historic Touring Car and GT Trophy).

The success of the current HTGT, which is organized by the Historic Racing Drivers’ Association (FHR), comes partly from the continuous, careful modification of the series.

Full starting grids and attractive races at the most beautiful events in Germany and neighboring countries show a spectacular variety of
historical cultural treasures. With rare prototypes, small and large engine capacity vehicles and powerful racing cars the HTGT presents a spectrum of racing history from the 50s to the early 70s.

But the owners of the rare individual cars do not take their treasures for a “walk” on the racetrack.
Hot position fights, tight braking maneuvers and nerve-racking pit stops create guaranteed excitement in the oldest historic racing series in Germany. Drivers from motorsport clubs, experienced amateurs, ambitious beginners and professionals move the race cars at the limit – and sometimes just above it.
For the first time in 2018, within the FHR racing series, a German Historic Automobile Championship (DHAM) will be held, the FHR HTGT around the Dunlop Trophy is part of this championship.
