At the Jim Clark Revival in Hockenheim, the Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship will make its debut appearance in Germany.
The Scandinavian racing series for Ginetta G40 cars will compete for the first time on the German Grand Prix circuit at the Hockenheimring. The series will be part of the Jim Clark Revival event, taking place from May 8 to 10.
Interest among drivers is high, and even before the end of 2025, 22 cars had already been registered for the premiere weekend, which will take place as part of the Jim Clark Revival.
The starting grid consists of both young talents and gentleman drivers, with the latter competing in a special AM category. However, the young participants dominate, for whom Ginetta is the perfect platform to later move up to higher classes such as GT3, GT4 or LMP3.
The compact GT sports car is built around a highly stable and torsionally rigid chassis, combined with a fully enclosed fiberglass body. Power comes from a 165-horsepower Ford engine, propelling a car that weighs just 850 kilograms. All vehicles are technically identical, with sealed engines and gearboxes, ensuring that driver skill alone makes the difference. Pirelli is the official tire supplier, and each driver is limited to just 14 slick tires per season.
All cars are fully manufactured and delivered by Ginetta Cars Ltd in England. The lower-powered G40 Junior model has enjoyed tremendous success in the UK and is the most popular junior racing category before drivers step up to Formula 4. Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris began his career in the Ginetta Junior series, and many other well-known professional drivers also started their racing journeys with Ginetta.
Ginetta also has a long-standing tradition in Scandinavia and celebrates its 20th season as a Nordic racing class this year. Since 2024, the German company Gebhardt Intralogistics Group has been the title sponsor of the championship, which now competes under the name Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship. This partnership has enabled live TV streaming and increased social media presence. In addition, the championship winner is awarded a test day in one of Gebhardt Motorsport’s LMP3 cars. For 2024 champion Alexzander Kristiansson, this opportunity even led to a full season with the team last year.
The Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship will contest two races at the Hockenheimring, promising close, exciting, and highly competitive action.
