Get goose pimples at the racing spectacle, indulge in nostalgia, something fun for everyone – young and old: the Bosch Hockenheim Historic event allows visitors to immerse themselves in a journey through time through the entire spectrum of the history of racing at three event days (21 – 23 April) – all in an atmospheric setting with teams in clothing from the time of their racing vehicles, grid girls in fantastic petticoats, straw bales which signpost the way to the press centre and the historical fair on the roof of the pit facilities. The historic charm shines through everywhere.

Non-stop action: Nine rounds of pure racing, five presentations
Do you just want to sit in the bleachers and enjoy the spectacle on the Grand Prix course? Or follow the enticing offerings in the supporting programme? It is a very difficult decision! In any case from 9am you will be spoilt with the sounds of historic racing cars. As many as nine different series will provide a real racing experience. The “BOSS GP” plays the leading role in terms of the Formula 1 fast cars, the CanAm Cup with 800 PS cult vehicles like the McLaren M8F or the dauntless Monoposto racing for the FIA Lurani trophy and the HRA Classic Formula 3. The young timer touring cars will delight with touring cars dating back to before 1990. The Lotus Cup Europe is particularly evocative of the twice F1 World Champion Jim Clark, who was killed in an accident at a F2 race on the Hockenheimring in 1968. It is in his honour that the Bosch Hockenheim Historic -The Jim Clark Revival is organised every year.

Five other races will be held for presentation drives – firstly Raceclub Germany with its historic treasures, “Raceclub Germany powered by FNT”, which has specialised in Formula 1 and F-3000 fast cars, for example the 2008 Toyota from Timo Glock. The German Maserati club presents 100 years of automotive history of the sportily elegant and impressive-sounding Passionata Maserati brand. An extremely exclusive drive by the Serenissima M1AF Formula 1 and its GT brother 308 Jet Competizione – the Scuderia Serenissima, which are back together again on the Grand Prix track for the first time after over 50 years. Porsche enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the presentations by Elevenclassics – with series classics like the Porsche 911 Carrera RS from 1973 through to the current Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Visitors of the event have the opportunity to view all of these historical racers in the drivers’ paddock or in the pits close up and chat with the owners – entrance is free! The programme booklet will provide information about where to find everything.

Schumacher-Benetton exhibition highlight, photo session on Friday
The highlight of the exquisite mini exhibition on the anniversary of “85 years of Hockenheimring” is the Benetton-Ford B194, with which the record-breaking champion Michael Schumacher first became Formula 1 World Champion in 1994. A Lotus 69 F2 from 1971 is also not to be missed – after all, the Motodrom was the mecca for Formula 2 from 1967 to 1982 – and all of the big players from back then made appearances there: Jim Clark, Jochen Rindt, Graham Hill, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Manfred Winkelhock, Stefan Bello, Nigel Mansell and many more. The Mercedes AMG CLK 55 DTM from the Motor Sport Museum will be there, with which the DTM record-breaking champion, Bernd Schneider, defended his title in 2001. The fourth in the historical quartet is a Condor-Porsche from the Interserie, the European counterpart of the CanAm Cup. The model built by Peter Behnke in 1969 is one of the most successful Interserie vehicles ever made. On Friday 21 April 2017, the jubilee, there will be a photo shoot at the start-finish straight at 7pm. The special exhibition is in the drivers’ paddock opposite pit 46. Other highlights of the supporting programme include the Jim Clark exhibition and the special tour “Following Jim Clark’s tracks”.

Nostalgia on the roof of the pits with a programme for young and old
The historical fair premiere will be held on the roof of the pits with a children’s carousel, coconut shy and sweet stand. All exhibitors will warm your heart à la days gone by – there is even a fashion show. All ticketholders are very welcome! Action, fun and excitement are guaranteed, and on Saturday evening the presentation ceremonies of the day will be held along with a huge party with the moped garage and the cover band “Me and Heat”, including fire artist and appearances from the Army Girl dance group – fifties style.

Prominent guests this year are former racing stars Ellen Lohr, Michael Bartels, Christian Danner, Jochen Mass and Marco Werner – who will be there from 12 noon on Saturday and/or Sunday at the Red Cafebar in the drivers’ paddock for autograph sessions. A shuttle will bring enthusiasts to the large “brand club area” at the Mercedes bleachers – traditionally THE meeting point for clubs, regulars or syndicates and for collectors’ vehicles from a wide range of vintages. An old timer and young timer sales market for complete vehicles is also included for the first time.

Bosch and Allianz partners
Both main event partners, Bosch Classic (formerly Automotive Tradition) and Allianz, are presenting exhibition vehicles and other points of interest right at the entrance to the drivers’ paddock. Allianz provided historical outfits for the Grid Girls – that needs to be seen.
