The 80s are back in town!
Also in its 6th season, the cult series TWC continues to enjoy unbroken popularity. After the announcement of the factories’ withdrawal from the current DTM and the ITR’s decision to organise a championship based on GT3, the authentic racing cars of the 80s and 90s are even more in favour with their fans and are celebrated frenetically everywhere.
The variety of cars from former racing series and their charismatic drivers characterised that time. Today, they are treated as stars on racing tracks everywhere. Their fans – old or young – love the so-called golden era of motorsport and have established a growing scene that has achieved a new level of quality since the “Touring Car Classics” was founded in 2015.
The event will be commented by Rainer Braun, who has been accompanying the TWC for three years as a track announcer. Especially popular with the fans are the many former DTM drivers who get into their former cars and thus provide additional excitement on and off the track.
The Pro-Am race format over a length of 40 minutes, whereby a driver change between ex-professional and car owner is made possible, has its special appeal because it means that a particularly large number of ex-DTM drivers will be competing. So far, 29 former DTM drivers have already competed. Commentated by voice-over legend Rainer Braun, we will again witness one of the most exciting eras of motorsport 30 years later. “The Golden Era”. The races will be broadcast live.
