Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy H&R Cup

The “Spezial-Tourenwagen-Trophy” has been an inherent part of German motorsport since 1986. Because of the support of main sponsor H&R, the subtitle H&R Cup was added in 2006. Additional renowned sponsors and professional partners make raffling material prizes worth over €12,000 for registered drivers at the end of the season possible. Newcomer only have to pay €500 for their first ever entry. Registration definitely pays off with the reasonable STT prices as the weekend has a €900 registration fee and only a €500 / €550 entry fee. Guest drivers have to pay €750 (up to 2000 ccm) / €800. The Spezial-Tourenwagen-Trophy is especially interesting for motorport novices. Juniors aged 17 to 24 only have to pay €2,650 when they want to register for the full season including all seven races. STT goes the extra mile when it comes to the promotion of youth drivers. In the upcoming season, they will have an STTJunior-Team. A number of classes for touring and GT-cars offer a great variety of racing cars. The strongest cars like the Porsche Turbo or the Chrysler Viper will compete in the big STT-classes over 6000ccm. Specially created classes will offer places for cars which do not fit into the other STT classes. Points will be awarded according to the old Formula 1 principle. Additional starting points for every race will be given to registered participants. Guest drivers will be awarded championship points, but no extra points for starting. Due to the points being awarded by class, it is possible that drivers in small classes overturn those in bigger classes. For example, a 2-litres Opel Astra with 270HP might overturn a big Porsche with over 700HP. Jochen Thissen was a contender for the title for a long time. But in the end, Michael Bäder (BMW Z4 V8) was able to win. The fight between big and small is not the only interesting one in STT. Often enough, it is also young against old. Joachim Bunkus' Triumph Dolomite is already 35 years old but by no means slow. In addition to it, old racers like Gerald Schalke and Jürgen Alzen's Porsche 997 Turbo will also be starting. Last year, the duo managed to come in third. But STT is not only about fast racers, booming engines and big wings, it is also about camaraderie and fairness, on the racetrack and in the paddock. The serie's drivers are connected by their fascination for fast cars and motorsport in general. Now and then, you might find a former professional among the real amateurs, who will inspire the audience with thrilling and fascinating racing. STT – three letters for exiting and attractive motorsport.
