"Kampf der Zwerge"

Mini Cooper, NSU TT, DKW Junior, Steyr-Puch 650TR, Abarth OT, SS oder TC, Autobianchi A-112 or Fiat 127, almost all of the small cars of the 1960s and 1970s have a veritable motorsport history. So it’s no wonder that the “Kampf der Zwege”, in which old competitors race against each other, is a welcome guest at pretty much every historic motorsport event. The “Kampf der Zwerge” has been one of the firmly established races in historic motorsport for more than a decade. Its origin goes back 25 years. Fans of Italian compact cars established a series in motorsport called “Abarth Coppa Mille” which combined attractive motorsport for the audience with an affordable budget for participants. Later, members of the “British Car Trophy” and the “NSU TT Trophy” joined this notion. Today, there are more than 70 touring cars up to 1300ccm. With this number of cars, the “Kampf der Zwerge” has one of the biggest starting fields of historic motorsport. Even though most members of the audience have cars with more engine power, the wide variety of cars is a guarantee for action. At each session there are inspections in evenness in two events for the “Kampf der Zwerge”. And because it is commonly known amongst drivers and motorsport fans that it is easiest to drive evenly when one is driving fastest, these sessions are one of the highlights for every motorsport enthusiast. Audience members need not fear being even slightly bored at this fight of the dwarves. All cars will be driving at their fastest in the entire field. Sometimes dedication makes up for lacking performance, which is always delightful. It guarantees driving enjoyment as well as great entertainment for the audience.
