European Formula 2 Club
The Historic Formula 2 Championship is now firmly established as one of the premier historic single-seater categories in Europe. A superb calendar of double–header race meetings at classic European tracks has attracted support from drivers from all over the world.
The championship, managed and administered by the Silverstone based Historic Sports Car Club, is open to cars built to period regulations for Formula 2, Formula Atlantic and Formula B, starting from 1967 and running right through to the end of the 1978 season.
There are 12 races in the 2012 Championship held at six Historic Race Meetings across Europe. The season will start:
Hockenheim 14-15 April
Donington Park 5-6 May
Spa 26-27 May
Brands Hatch 30 June -1 July
Zandvoort 1-2 September
Dijon 6-7 October
Many of the cars racing have a famous pedigree, in period examples of cars raced by Jack Brabham, Kurt Ahrens, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jacques Laffitte, Jean Pierre Jaussaud, Eddie Cheever and James Hunt, many of the current day owners take great pride in restoring and maintaining their cars in period livery. Entering a Formula 2 paddock is like taking a step back in time.
