Registration for taking part in the world record attempt possible from 13 February 2012 via www.hockenheim-historic.de

“Bosch Hockenheim Historic – Das Jim Clark Revival” 2012 has gained one more attraction as the Hockenheim-Ring GmbH has registered for the world record attempt “The world’s biggest moving automobile museum”. The institution “Guiness World Records”, founded in 1955 and located in London, approved the application on 1 Febuary 2012 so that the Guiness world record attempt can take place during the “Bosch Hockenheim Historic” on 14 February 2012 at 6 pm.

The world record attempt can only succeed if at least 949 vehicles (which are 30 years old or even older) complete one lap on the 4.574km long track of the  Hockenheimring. The current record is 948 classic cars and was set up on the Dutch race track in Zandvoort in 2002. “We want to put about 1,000 vintage cars on the race track and set a new record,” head of organization Wolfgang Huter declares.

This is why the organizers ask all owners of a classic car older than 30 years, and brand club visitors in particular, for their support. Registration for participation of the world record attempt can be found at  www.hockenheim-historic.de starting 13 February. “Bosch Hockenheim Historic” from 13 April to 15 April 2012 is the eighth event in honor of the two-time Formula One world champion Jim Clark who was killed in an accident on the Hockenheimring on 7 April 1968. As in previous years, historic motorsport fans can expect the perfect combination of exciting races, big brand club areas and a varied supporting program as well as numerous highlights on and off track. “Bosch Hockenheim Historic” is the event for all admirers of classic cars and historic racing cars. The brand club area in the generously arranged part of the Mercedes tribune especially has been a welcome meeting point for all owners of vintage cars, modern-era classic cars and exotic cars for many years.
